Safety at Verseward

You matter more than this app.

Verseward is a devotional companion — a way to find Scripture for what you're facing, reflect, and take one small next step. It's not a crisis service, and it's not a substitute for a real person, a counselor, a pastor, or emergency care.

If you're in crisis right now

If you're thinking about harming yourself, or you're in immediate danger, please reach out to real help right now — not an app.

United States

Call or text 988 — the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.

Text HOME to 741741 — Crisis Text Line.

United Kingdom & Ireland

Call 116 123 — Samaritans, free and available 24/7.

Outside the US or UK

Visit findahelpline.com to find a crisis line in your country.

If you're in immediate physical danger, call your local emergency number (911 in the US, 999 in the UK, 112 in the EU) right away.

What Verseward can and can't do

Verseward can help you find Scripture that speaks to what you're going through, offer a short reflection, and suggest one small next step. It's a place to feel less alone with what you're carrying.

Verseward can't assess whether you're safe, can't call anyone for help on your behalf, and can't respond in real time the way a person can. The Readings you receive are generated by AI — they're meant to be a starting point, not a final word, and they're not a replacement for pastoral care, therapy, or medical treatment.

Tell us if something's wrong

If a Reading felt harmful, inaccurate, or badly out of step with your situation — or if you spot a bug, a security issue, or anything else that concerns you — please tell us. Email hello@verseward.app. We read every message ourselves.
